'Ascension' black Marquina marble 290/120/80cm.

Is the central piece produced for my first retrospective solo show exhibition in the UK, ‘Between Order and Chaos: the pendular state'. A project that emerged with the intention of exploring the relationship between me and my artistic practice during the creative process; investigating ideas such as purpose or will, departure point and objective, control and flexibility, structure and accident, and materiality versus virtuality, to understand how they alter the emotional relation between the creator and the object created during their interactive encounter. 

This triptic exhibition consisted in three large marble sculptures: 'Contention' white Portuguese marble 230/90/60cm, 'Liberation' black Marquina marble 80/240/40cm and 'Ascension'. 

Held at Messums Wiltshire art gallery during the month of May of 2019. Currently this -together with the other two monumental sculptures- piece is on display in the open galery park surrounding the gallery.

Serpentine, 62/35/32 cm - New Zealand 2014.

‘Te-Ha’ was produced during the Hokitika Sculpture Symposium held and organised by the sculptor Rory Mcdougall at his beautiful residence and sculpture park in Hokitka village on New Zealand’s South-Island.

The material, a local Serpentine rich in jade intrusions was -rather than artificially extracted- collected from the river source as it came carved by nature. The area, a reference in the Jade industry with numerous artisans established after an ancient Maori settled tradition, has become the pride of a very kind and welcoming community.

Te-Ha, meaning ‘the breath’ in Maori, reflects a deep breath imbued into a free geometrical form on a material of deep tribal and ritual significance. Created In a context of immense natural presence, this form and idea emerged within it, without any preconceptions nor deliberate intentions.

Granite glacial boulder, 210/ 130/ 100cm

Lithuania 2015

Carved into a glacial granite boulder, this sculpture was created during the Energetikas International Symposium in Lithuania and is now part of the sculpture park surrounding the health centre.

The concept itself is a reflection of the cycle of nature, and how everything eventually returns to its origins in a continuous cycle of regeneration.

Romania, 2011

Meaning, memory of a leaf, ‘Memoria Frunze’ was created during the Caransebes International Sculpture Symposium, in Romania.

It was a great opportunity to meet other artists and travel to a part of the world of extraordinary beauty and rich cultural heritage. I had the chance to visit some of the public monuments by Brancusi at his home town and sculpture park.

The formal concept of the Symposium got adapted during the process of carving into a block of pink local marble of great quality, and was the departure for later projects that developed ideas of internal stretching in the years that followed.

All in all, brought within landscaping ideas for future projects. The installation was concluded with a round circle of arranged river cobble stones.
